By: E&P Staff Ken Sands has been promoted to online publisher of The Spokesman-Review in Spokane, Wash.
Previously, Sands served as managing editor-online and new media for the paper. In the new position, he will oversee the continued development of the paper's Web site, adding advertising and promotion oversight to his existing editorial supervision. Sands is also responsible for directing online strategies and Web alliances.
In other Spokesman-Review staff changes, Merrell Ligons was named online business manager, responsible for developing new sources of revenue. Kathleen Coleman, consumer marketing manager, will also become assistant director of sales and marketing. And Diane Bobiak was named real estate and contract classified manager for the newspaper.
