Levine Resigns from 'AJC' for Lifted Quotes

Posted
By: E&P Staff Al Levine has resigned as a staff writer for the Atlanta Journal-Constitution after he lifted quotes from other newspapers, Editor Julia Wallace said in an editor's note Saturday.

The quotes in question were used without attribution in two stories about the Daytona 500, one in 2004 and one in 2005. The 2005 quotes came from the Daytona Beach (Fla.) News-Journal, and the 2004 quotes from the Orlando Sentinel, Wallace wrote.

Levine "regrets lifting the quotes, apologizes, and has resigned," Wallace wrote.
