By: Jennifer Saba LocalPoint Media, the national community-advertising network launched in part by Suburban Newspaper of America, is introducing an aggregation Web site for preprints, coupons, and other special deals on Oct. 1.

The new site, Zip2Save.com, is part of a partnership with Metroland Media Group, which launched a similar site in Canada, flyerland.ca.

LocalPoint Media will promote Zip2Save -- searchable down to the ZIP code level -- in print and online and will sell local advertising to the site. More than 1,000 community papers and niche products representing 6.4 million in circulation are taking part in Zip2Save. All newspaper companies are invited to join.

"Most major retailers in Canada are running online preprints on flyerland.ca," Nancy Lane, president of LocalPoint Media, said in a statement. "Metroland Media Group is one of the most innovative and progressive newspaper companies in all of North America and we are proud to partner with them on this existing project."

Advertisers can place buys on the site in variety of ways, including national, local, multi-state, state, designated market area, and county levels.

"Our local newspapers, along with a locally promoted national online marketplace, will provide our advertisers with compelling geo-targeting capabilities," Kirk Davis, President and COO of GateHouse Media, said in a statement.

LocalPoint is holding free informational webinars on Aug. 26 and Sept. 3. To register call 866-451-5567 or send an e-mail to sna@suburban-news.org.
