By: E&P Staff The weekly Marion (S.C.) Star & Mullins Enterprise has named Naeem McFadden its new editor.
McFadden joined the Star & Enterprise in 2005 as a sports correspondent and columnist. He received a South Carolina Press Association award for sports column writing in 2007.
"It has been an honor and a privilege of mine to be a member of this historic publication," McFadden said in a statement. "And now, I?m grateful for this new opportunity and look forward to taking the lead in keeping a spotlight on the people in our community and on providing useful information."
A graduate of the University of South Carolina State University in Orangeburg, McFadden also hosts a local sports talk radio show.
"It?s wonderful to be in this position," McFadden said. "I appreciate everyone who contributes to the legacy of the Star & Enterprise newspaper ? a lot of credit goes to the many individuals who have been helpful and great to work with along this journey."
