By: E&P Staff Msnbc.com and its editorial cartoonist Daryl Cagle, cartoonist-founder of newspaper syndicate Cagle Cartoons Inc. and founder of the Political Cartoonists Index Web site, have teamed up to develop "msnbc Cartoons", a free app for the iPhone and iPod Touch that delivers political cartoons from around the globe.

"Msnbc Cartoons" delivers the newest editorial cartoons in real-time from 800 newspapers around the world, updated as soon as dozens of participating editorial cartoonists submit them. The interface for browsing the cartoons is degigned to work like iPhoto, with pinch zoom and tilt rotation features. Users can even shake their iPhone to show a random cartoon.

App users can share their favorite political cartoons by e-mail, or post them to their Twitter and Facebook pages without ever having to leave the app. "It has more cartoons, more often, than any other app out there, and it's free!" Cagle said in a statement.

Download the pap for free for the iPhone or iPod touch from the iTunes App Store, here.
