FCC Chairman Brendan Carr says he has no concerns about facing congressional investigations or subpoenas, even as Tuesday’s midterm elections give Democrats new opportunities to scrutinize an agency that has repeatedly clashed with lawmakers over its handling of broadcast regulation and media investigations.
Carr’s comments, made during a news conference following the Commission’s October meeting, came just days before voters headed to the polls. Asked whether a shift in congressional power could complicate his agenda, Carr brushed aside the possibility, saying he intends to press forward with an ambitious regulatory program extending through the remainder of President Trump’s term.
