New General Manager for NewsCom

By: E&P Staff Bill Creighton has been named general manager of NewsCom, a Knight Ridder and Tribune Media Services (TMS) joint venture that's moving next month from Los Angeles to Washington, D.C.

Creighton -- who will oversee operations from the company's new headquarters -- was previously vice president of global sales and marketing for United Press International (UPI), and has also worked for Reuters.

NewsCom manages, licenses, and distributes digital content from 70 providers, including TMS, Knight Ridder/Tribune Information Services, UPI, Reuters, the New York Times Syndicate, Getty Images, and Agence France-Presse.
