New Home Page for 'WP' Site

Posted
By: E&P Staff The Washington Post's Web site unveiled a new homepage yesterday, replacing the left navigation system with a top navigation system that includes roll-down menus.

Executives hope the redesign will give the site a less cluttered feel and make it easier to read. "The new design gives us the flexibility to provide more information upfront in a cleaner, more streamlined interface," Jim Brady, executive editor of washingtonpost.com, said in a statement.

Changes came in response to research that showed people preferred a single navigational tool. Without left navigation, users reported they were less likely to explore the full site.
