On March 4, Arthur Gregg Sulzberger will be in Oxford to deliver the 2024 Reuters Memorial Lecture, the main event the Reuters Institute hosts every year. He’ll follow in the footsteps of distinguished speakers such as Carlos F. ChamorroAlessandra GalloniPatrícia Campos MelloRebecca CorbettSiddharth VaradarajanMarty BaronMelissa Bell and his own father, who delivered the lecture in 2008.

I recently spoke to Sulzberger in an hour-long video call, and asked him a couple of follow-up questions by email. Our conversation has been lightly edited for clarity and length.
