By: Editorial Staff U.S. DAILY NEWSPAPERS consumed 735,000 metric tons of newsprint in March, 10,000 tons less (1.3%) than a year earlier, according to the Newspaper Association of America.
Publishers' end-of-month newsprint inventories exceeded 1.24 million tons, representing a 51-day supply, or 29.3% more than the 960,000 tons (39 days) in March 1995.
