By: Editorial Staff THE NATIONAL NEWSPAPER Association has sold its advertising subsidiary, American Newspaper Representatives, Inc., to Hillary Howe of Troy, Mich. Howe worked as national sales director of ANR and has been a leading sales executive with the company for 15 years.
Community newspaper sales through ANR are about $5 million annually. ANR has the largest database of rates, frequency and other information about community newspapers, and it specializes in placing ads for smaller market dailies and weeklies.
The sale of ANR includes an ongoing affiliation with the NNA, said Michael Parta, NNA chairman.
