By: E&P Staff The New York Observer is launching a lifestyle magazine about parenting. The first issue of Observer Playground was inserted in the paper Wednesday featuring actress Mary-Louise Parker on the cover.
The glossy magazine is targeted to New York parents and draws on material from Liz Lange, a maternity fashion designer, and socialites Tatiana Boncompagni Hoover, Rachel Felder and Tara Mandy. Lyss Stern, who writes the blog
Divalysscious Moms, is serving as editor in chief.
"Sophisticated people with children are the cornerstone of our readership," Jared Kushner, owner of the New York Observer, said in a statement. "We want to offer our readers unique coverage that relates to the most important part of their lives -- their family."
