By: E&P Staff The New York Times expanded its distribution reach Monday as the first copies of its national edition rolled off the presses of The Tennessean in Nashville.

With the addition of the Nashville site, the Times is now printed at 26 locations in North America.

"This new agreement with The Tennessean underscores the Times' commitment to provide high-quality journalism to more readers in more markets throughout North America," Scott Heekin-Canedy, the Times' president and general manager, said in a statement.

Tennessean Publisher Ellen Leifeld noted that the paper already prints more than 20 commercial publications on its presses, and the addition of the Times is "one more step in the diversification of our business."
