'NYT' dropping Circuits, Boosting Styles

By: E&P Staff In a memo to staffers on Monday, Bill Keller, executive editor of The New York Times, announced several major section changes at the paper.

For one thing, Circuits, "our much-imitated technology section," wil cease to exist next week as a stand-alone section, Keller wrote in the memo, posted at the Romenesko site at www.poynter.org. That sort of content has already migrated into the mainstream, he observed, and will continue to show up in the business section and in special sections.

On April 14, he said, the paper will launch a new mid-week cousin of Sunday Styles, focused on fashion, fitness, beauty, shopping and lifestyles. And on May 5 it will "begin rolling out a redesigned Business Day, Monday through Saturday."
