On the Drawing Board, Again, with Armstrong Williams

By: Dave Astor The editorial cartoons about Armstrong Williams just keep coming.

Today's entry is from J.D. Crowe of the Mobile (Ala.) Register, the Artizans syndicate, and self-syndication. Crowe pictures Williams at a desk under a sign saying "CBS Evening News with Armstrong Willliams." The caption: "Match made in credibility hell."

Of course, some conservatives might prefer to see Williams as CBS anchor instead of Dan Rather, who's been accused of liberal leanings.

Other cartoonists previously tweaking Williams this week (E&P Online, Jan. 11 and 12) included Robert Ariail of The State, Columbia, S.C., and United Media; Chip Bok of the Akron (Ohio) Beacon Journal and Creators Syndicate; and the self-syndicated Khalil Bendib and M.e. Cohen.

Tribune Media Services terminated Williams' contract Friday after revelations that he accepted $240,000 from the Bush administration to promote the No Child Left Behind education law on his TV and radio shows and that he mentioned NCLB at least four times last year in his column.
