ONA appoints Lauren Williams and Angela Pacienza to the 2024-25 board of directors

The Online News Association is thrilled to announce two appointments to the 2024-25 board of directors: Lauren Williams, CEO and co-founder of Capital B, and Angela Pacienza, executive editor at The Globe and Mail.

Lauren Williams leads a nonprofit news team on a mission to serve the needs and experiences of Black audiences. She started her media career as a local reporter in Newport News, Virginia, and has since served in editorial and operations leadership roles at Vox.com, Mother Jones and The Root, among other outlets.

Angela Pacienza joined the ONA board in 2022 and has been appointed by her peers to serve a second two-year term. At The Globe and Mail, she is responsible for the print and digital editorial strategy. She previously led The Globe’s culture change and staff development initiatives and continues to focus on efforts to advance and retain women at the management level in newsrooms.
