Online Help Wanted Ads Rise in April

Posted
By: E&P Staff The Conference Board said on Monday that total online job ads were up 16% in April compared to March. Part of the rise reflects seasonal factors. Over the year, ads rose 24% in April.

?Employers are actively looking for the right workers and a relatively tight labor market is forcing them to maintain aggressive advertising plans,? said Gad Levanon, an economist at the Conference Board, in a statement.

The fastest year-over-year growth was in the mid-section of the country with West South Central and West North Central regions up 41% and 35% respectively. New England reported the slowest growth, up 6%.

The most advertised vacancies online by occupation in April were management (476,200) and healthcare practitioner/technical (374,700).
