Pelosi, Reid Deny 'Wash Post' Story That They Backed Down on Withdrawal

By: E&P Staff The offices of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid are trying to shoot down a Washington Post story from today that said they agreed to drop their call that a timetable be set for the U.S. withdrawal from Iraq, according to the Web site Talking Points Memo. The Web log says the newspaper is standing by its story, and that Post reporters reportedly say the concession of removing language about the withdrawal from the military spending bill was originally offered by the Democrats.
