Pennsylvania Newspaper Association Appoints New Chair

By: A Pittsburgh Tribune-Review Publishing Co. executive has been named chairman of the Pennsylvania Newspaper Association.

Ralph Martin is chief executive of print and Internet multimedia at Trib Total Media. His one-year term begins Thursday, when he succeeds Sandra Hardy, a co-owner and director of Calkins Media, of Yardley.

The 53-year-old Martin, who joined the company in 2003, says it's an honor.

Trib Total Media is privately held by Dick Scaife. It includes the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review, the Tribune-Review in Greensburg, six other daily western dailies, 10 weeklies and five magazines.

The Harrisburg-based Pennsylvania Newspaper Association was established in 1925. It has 307 members.
