Since I'm traveling today, I'm going to suggest that you spend the time you usually might take to read this daily column at another Web site: the Poynter Institute for Media Studies.
Poynter is a newspaper industry think tank in St. Petersburg, Florida, that conducts research and runs an excellent program of workshops and seminars. I had the pleasure of attending a new media workshop earlier this year, and highly recommend visiting Poynter if you ever have the chance. In fact, Poynter is devoting a fair amount of effort to new media programs, which isa new development begun this year. Reports from some of the past new media workshops can be found on the Poynter Web site.
OK, it's time to go to Poynter.
