Publisher of Wichita Paper Collaborates on 'BTK Killer' Book

Posted
By: A new book about BTK serial killer Dennis Rader goes on sale this week and documents the link between police and The Wichita Eagle.

Rader was sentenced in June 2005 to consecutive life sentences for ten killings between 1974 and 1991.

After three decades of police work and newspaper reporting, police chief Norman Williams and Wichita Eagle publisher Lou Heldman have collaborated to tell details about the process that led to Rader's capture.

The book, "Bind, Torture, Kill: The Inside Story of the Serial Killer Next Door,'' details the Eagle's association with the police back to the earliest days of the investigation when Rader began communicating through the newspaper in 1974.

Part of The Eagle's proceeds go to a fund for fallen officers.
