Residents bid a sad farewell to Litchfield Independent Review

It was a sad day Wednesday at the Litchfield Opera House as residents of Litchfield, as well as current and former employees, bid farewell to the Litchfield Independent Review.

The Independent Review was the community’s only newspaper and, having been in business for 148 years, the community’s longest continuously run business, according to its last Looking Back column, written by Terry Shaw. The last column reviewed the history of newspapers in Litchfield, with some personal anecdotes included.
