Announcement from Assignment Editor for Social Kyley Schultz, Deputy Director, of Social Travis Lyles and Universal News Desk Editor Kenisha R. Malcom:

We are pleased to announce that Rushard Anderson is joining The Post as a social media editor.

Rushard will play a key role in programming our main accounts on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Telegram, duties that will be bolstered by his previous experience building social portfolios for major sports publishers.

Rushard has worked as a video producer and social media manager for ESPN Radio, covering the Baltimore Orioles along with a handful of college football assignments. Before that, he interned at ESPN as a production assistant for “Pardon the Interruption,” “Highly Questionable” and “Around the Horn.”

Most recently, he worked as a multiplatform social media producer for NBC Sports Boston, where he helped kickstart the station’s TikTok account, designed social graphics across platforms and helped amplify live game coverage on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram. At NBC Sports, he also worked as a researcher for the 2020 Olympics and was a core part of the outlet’s social coverage for the NBA Finals.

Originally from Richmond, Va., Rushard graduated from Hampton University with a degree in broadcast journalism and sports management. While at Hampton, he was a writer for the Hampton Script, the school’s student newspaper, and a member of the football team. He received his master’s degree from Georgetown University in sports industry management and communications.

Outside of work, Rushard enjoys cooking new recipes, binge-watching TV shows and watching sports as much as possible.

Rushard starts on March 20. Please join us in welcoming him to The Post.
