Sabrina Crow, Formerly at Freedom and KR, Takes Helm at Nielsen Magazine Unit

By: E&P Staff Sabrina Crow has been named senior vice president of Nielsen Business Media?s Marketing & Media Group, which houses Editor & Publisher, Mediaweek, Adweek, Brandweek, and several other properties, effective today. Based in New York, Crow replaces Mike Parker, who is leaving the company to pursue a non-business-to-business venture.

In her new role, Crow will oversee all business and editorial operations for the brands, including their related conferences, events and digital products. She will report to Nielsen Business Media COO Greg Farrar. She can be reached at sabrina.crow@nielsen.com.

Crow joined the company in April as vice president of the Marketing & Media Group, and her primary responsibility has been to drive the digital strategy and implementation for the brands. She comes with considerable experience in the field, having most recently been group vice president/managing director for the Reed Business-US Science and Medical portfolio of magazines and Internet brands, where she created digital products such as webcasts, virtual trade shows and other innovative products.

Prior to that, Crow was CEO of Freedom Magazines International and Publisher of Latin Trade, a pan-regional business magazine with Portuguese, Spanish and English language editions, as well as vertical magazines, LT Elite and LT BTG. At Knight Ridder, Sabrina ran a $100-million revenue business as Classified Advertising Director for the The Miami Herald and El Nuevo Herald. She began her career at Hanley-Wood in Washington, DC.

Parker, an 11-year veteran of Nielsen Business Media (itself a unit of The Nielsen Co.), joined the company as senior vice president of sales & marketing and publisher of Mediaweek. His last day with the company is June 15.

Other properties in the Marketing & Media group include The Clio Awards, American Artist and Watson-Guptill.
