Sun on Sunday Rivals Boosted by Paper's Technical Problems

By: Mark Sweney | The Guardian

The Sunday Mirror and Sunday People are understood to have been the biggest beneficiaries from the technical glitch that saw the Sun on Sunday's sales dip 35% at the weekend, as rival titles collectively added about 250,000 in circulation.

Sunday's "extremely rare and complex" technical problem that caused widespread distribution problems for the News UK redtop helped the Sunday Mirror add between 90,000 and 100,000 additional sales, boosting total circulation to about 1.15m to 1.2m, according to unofficial industry figures from multiple sources.
