By: E&P Staff Sun-Times News Group (STNG), the cluster of Chicago-area dailies and community papers around the Chicago Sun-Times, on Thursday announced the launch of NeighborhoodCircle.com, community-oriented Web sites that allow suburbanites to interact with blogs, forums, and other postings about community events and issues.
STNG launched NeighborhoodCircle.com with sites for the far suburban Chicago communities of Montgomery, Oswego and Yorkville. It said it will roll out more community sites through the year.
?NeighborhoodCircle.com ... builds on the Sun-Times News Group?s strength as the premier source of local news in the Chicago region,? Cyrus F. Freidheim, Jr., president and CEO of STNG parent company Sun-Times Media Group Inc. said in a statement. ?And we?re providing an exciting opportunity to advertisers who want to target certain populations of customers in fast-growing communities.?
Readers can find news on NeighborhoodCircle.com not covered in their local papers, but the sites are also lined to the 90-plus newspapers published by STNG.
?This is all about community journalism,? STNG?s vice president, new media Fred Lebolt said in a statement.
