UFC executive has not been confirmed for the role as president suggests fighters join the press team

President Donald Trump said Saturday that he had offered UFC CEO Dana White the job of White House press secretary, posting a message that also proposed bringing mixed martial arts fighters into the administration’s communications operation. It remained unclear whether the proposal was serious.

The Truth Social post described White as a fighter and warrior and asked him to bring several UFC personalities as assistants. Mediaite, in a report carried by Yahoo News, characterized the request for fighters as a joke.

“Dana will be a Press Secretary like none other. Dana, please take the job!” Trump wrote.

Scripps News reported that Trump had not said whether White accepted and that it had contacted the White House for clarification about the statement’s legitimacy. The Washington Examiner also reported the proposed offer, identifying White as a longtime Trump ally.

The post drew attention to a position central to the administration’s relationship with journalists: the press secretary answers questions about presidential decisions and communicates the White House’s positions to the public. The reports reviewed did not establish that White had accepted the position or that a formal appointment had been made.

This is a developing story. The seriousness of the proposal and White’s response remain unconfirmed.
