By: E&P Staff Ada Matbaacilik Co. Ltd., Ankara, Turkey, purchased a T-400BE four-high tower from Tensor Group, Woodridge, Ill., to diversify production on its existing Tensor web offset press.
Founded in 2000 to finish and bind products for its sister company, Dortel Publishing, Ada Matbaacilik branched into printing Ministry of Education schoolbooks in 2007 when the first Tensor press was installed.
Shipped late last month, the new tower will increase press capacity to 32 pages of coldset schoolbook signatures. Ada also plans to print high-quality magazines and inserts with the new press arrangement.
The footprint shaftless T-400BE is equipped with a Prime UV curing system, Betz Technologies' ink agitators and EPG's remote inking system. In addition, it will install a Valco gluing system on the existing H-50 folder.
