Twice-Weekly 'Midwest City Sun' to Fold

By: E&P Staff After nearly three decades of publication, the twice-weekly Midwest (Okla.) City Sun is folding with its final edition on Oct. 28, Publisher Lance Moler said in an article posted on its Web site Thursday.

The Sun, owned by Birmingham, Ala.-based Community Newspaper Holdings Inc. (CNHI) was launched in March 1980. It served communities in eastern Oklahoma County. The paper was the last remaining in the Okalahoma County Newspapers group.

Ten employees will lose their jobs when the Sun folds.
