Two Promoted at 'Boston Globe' Editorial Page

By: E&P Staff The Boston Globe has announced that Dante Ramos has been promoted to deputy editorial page editor, and Donald MacGillis has been named assistant editorial page editor. Both will assume their positions on Monday.

Ramos has been at the Globe since 2006 as a member of the editorial board. He previously worked as deputy editorial page editor at The Times-Picayune in New Orleans, and he has also written for The Economist, The New Republic, Salon.com, The New York Times Book Review, and other publications.

MacGillis joined the editorial board in 2000, and has written largely about medicine, science and the environment. He has been at the Globe since 1995, when he signed on to direct the paper's journalism project "The People's Voice" which was created to spark civic engagement before the presidential campaign in 1996. He previously worked at the Berkshire Eagle, and served as a medic and public affairs assistant in the U.S. Army.
