By: E&P Staff In a content-sharing partnership both news organizations call "unprecedented," Gannett Co. flagship USA Today and ABC News announced Monday they will share stories, video, and commentary about the 2008 election on each other's Web sites, and will collaborate on several political stories during the campaign.

"By combining our coverage of the 2008 election we'll be able to give readers of both web sites a much richer political report," USA Today Executive Editor Kinsey Wilson said in a statement.

USA Today will contribute stories, blogs, and interactive content to abcnews.com, while ABC will contribute daily and archival video to usatoday.com. Election coverage pages will be co-branded, the news organizations said.

Beyond political coverage, USA Today will provide stories each week to ABC's Web site on topics including technology, business, health, travel, and style.

The two news organizations have collaborated in the past on joint reporting projects, most recently on the series "Iraq: Where Things Stand."
