By: E&P Staff New data from Mediamark Research Inc. (MRI) found that USA Today reaches more than 3.7 million print readers on a daily basis, a 3% increase over the same fall period in 2008.

Along with USAToday.com, both the print and online versions reach more than 6.1 million adults, a growth of 12% year-over-year.

"The most recent numbers from MRI show that more people are choosing to read USA Today than any other newspaper in the country, with 291,000 more print readers per day than our nearest competitor The Wall Street Journal, and 1 million more print readers than The New York Times," David Hunke, president and publisher of USA Today, said in a statement.

USA Today's daily print circulation is 1,900,116 for the six months ending September 2009, a decline of 17%, according to the Audit Bureau of Circulations.
