The fifth-generation, family-owned company behind Connecticut’s Record-Journal plus seven weeklies, two news websites and a digital marketing agency has developed a business model that makes it all work.

The Record-Journal, which publishes five days a week, has solidified its relationship with readers and local advertisers while the company has engaged in listening tours and additional outreach to attract readers from the growing Hispanic population and other underserved communities.

RJ Media has produced “A Latino Communities Listening Playbook for Actionable News Strategies” for media companies that seek to replicate its approach to growth.
